Flies are particularly annoying. They tend to get around humid places, such as the sink, trash can and foodstuffs. If you have been trying chemical products against flies, we advise you in this article to use natural traps. It is healthier and better for your health and environment.
Fly invasion in the house, do not worry! here is a natural trap based on cider vinegar.
Flies cannot resist fermentation smell and coder vinegar is made of fermented apples.
The trap would be more effective is you heat the vinegar beforehand. In fact, heat gives off vinegar aroma, so the odor will be stronger.
To make this trap you will need the following materials:
Heat the apple cider vinegar and pour it into the jar (there must be enough vinegar for a fly to drown in it).
Then add 1 to 2 drop (s) of dishwashing liquid. This step is important! In fact, the dishwashing liquid will reduce the surface tension of the vinegar. If you don’t put washing up liquid, flies can land on the vinegar and fly away!
After that, roll a piece of paper in the shape of a funnel (see photo).
Finally, insert funnel in the jar. Leave a small hole in the bottom of the funnel for the flies to enter. The flies will enter the jar because they are attracted by the smell and will drown.
To make the trap even more effective, add a piece of fruit as a bait, it will decompose and make the trap even more attractive. If the flies are trapped in the jar but do not drown, you can put the jar in the freezer for 20 min.
Flies love fruits, so this is a great trap. To realize this, you will be needing:
Put many ripe fruit pieces at the bottom of the jar. The, close it with the stretch film paper. After that, make some small holes with the toothpick. Finally, chose a good strategic place where to put the jar or container.
Advice: you may want to prepare many jars and leave them where the flies enter, usually.
Once the jar is full of flies, put it in hot water and wash it to prepare another.
Have you ever seen a drunk fly? might be funny to watch.
Another substance that attracts flies is red wine.
If you have some red wine left at the bottom of your bottle, flies will drawn in it.
Here is a recipe from an almanac that dates back to 1850.
We don’t know who invented it – but the main thing is that it is particularly effective! It is for this reason that our grandmothers used it.
The materials:
Pour all the ingredients in saucepan. Leave it to shudder for 10 minutes.
Pour the preparation in a bowl and put one ball in every place where flies are.
Flies love this grandmother’s recipe. They are attracted to this mixture and quickly drown in it.
In case the flies manage to extricate themselves from the surface, support 1 to 2 drop (s) of dishwashing liquid to the mixture.
